Grace CRC of Scarboroughhas five positions approved by Canada Summer Job Program. These opportunities are available to participants who are between 15 and 30 years (inclusive) at the start of employment, and are: a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or a person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and refugee Protection Act, and is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.

As we look to serve our community’s children and youth during the summer months, the two students would be responsible for recommending and assisting us in planning, promoting, and carrying out summer initiatives that will serve our children and youth in the surrounding area, with a focus on newcomers to Canada.

This is a 5-acre site, with a 60-year-old church building, and much maintenance is required for the land and the building as we serve the community.

COVID brought on the necessity for live streaming, and we were able to set that up. We are now hoping to hire a student who can assist our media team in improving the experience for everyone participating in the Sunday worship service, both in-person and online. This person should have knowledge of media presentation technology (e.g. Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slide), audio & sound systems, and video/webcams. Streaming technologies (e.g. OBS, ProPresenter) and web conferencing systems (e.g. Zoom) are assets.

As we serve within this digital age, we would like someone to assist us with increasing our social media presence and engagement within the community and beyond. Familiarity with various social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, creative abilities in creating media content (image and video), and some knowledge of digital marketing will be very helpful to become a successful Social Media Assistant.
